We can’t go further without knowing what our anchor topic is all about. It is very important to say this because the topic will be canvasing everything conversation that will take place here.
So now, this will lead me to ask;
What Is Perioral Dermatitis?
This is probably an irritating skin condition which causes a rash (or numerous rashes) around the mouth region. There are other places or regions where this very rash or rashes may occur.
Just as said earlier, there are numerous regions where this could occur. These are places like nose, genitals and eyes, but the tendency of having such rash on these regions is low.
It is very uncommon to have a perioral dermatitis at your eye, nose or genitals. But the major region for this disease is the mouth.
The term dermatitis refers to an inflammation of the skin and the perioral means which is around the mouth. Additional, the skin condition is most at times called or known as periorificial dermatitis.
Meanwhile when this deadly and irritating disease (Perioral Dermatitis) affects the children, it is likely called “Childhood Perioral Dermatitis”.
Elder people, males and children are also exposed to have this disease. This is to say that they can also have the condition, but it happens less frequently.
From previous and subsequent researches, it was discovered that this very condition perioral dermatitis is mostly common among the females. This ranges from the age of 16 and 45 years old to be precise.
Having known all these, the question you should be asking yourself is; How does this happen?
It will be a true unrealistic or a mystery to you all if you don’t know what or how this condition happens. Certainly there most be a symptom or perhaps numerous symptoms.
Because this condition perioral dermatitis has some detective symptoms, this lead me to write on;
Symptoms of Perioral Dermatitis
This is probably one of the important things we should keenly and candidly talk about here on this very unique and informative thread,
This condition perioral dermatitis is actually a rash that develops around the mouth (just as referenced in the upper part of this thread). So it tends to be scaly and very super bumpy in nature.
These bumps general do not affect the skin right next to the mouth but it appeared in a short distance away from the lips. They may form a ring around the mouth.
Sometimes the rash can appear around the nose or eyes. It can occasionally appear around the genitals too, but this is rare.
So you should know that it normally happens majorly only at the mouth region. The nose, eye and genital aren’t affected steadily like the previous especially a rash around mouth toddler
Some people with perioral dermatitis may only get a few bumps, and their rash may not be very discernible. Others may have many lumps forming a noticeable rash.
The bumps may be skin colored, or, in people with fair skin, may appear red or pink. Although they might resemble pimples, the bumps are not the same as acne.
It is possible that the rash will look inflamed, with the underlying and surrounding skin appearing red or pink and rash around mouth toddler
Most of the time, the rash or rashes may be itchy and perhaps will certainly need to be scratched thoroughly but this does not happen most frequently.
Whereas some people with perioral dermatitis may feel tightness or mild burning in the affected skin, which may be dry or flaky.
That’s what I can say for the symptoms of such conditions like perioral dermatitis. So beloved,do not hesitate to consult a therapist or a doctor so as to take care of such situation before it becomes something worsten.
Please do not forget that this condition is very deadly and flaky too. Meanwhile, something most have prompted this condition.
Yeah! this condition didn’t just flew from the whirl wind, but rather there should be things that could cause this very disease.
Still on this, I will like to add more to this very content by adding the causes of this very diseases which has risked so many lives.
Perioral Dermatitis Causes
For the perioral dermatitis causes, there isn’t a cogent one which we could get hold to say “Yeah” this is the cause. And this very disease is not contagious.
Since the major or specific cause has never been unveiled or known, the researches then related it to the use of topical corticosteroids.
Another question will certainly come up here! since there is no exact cause for this condition and some group of researches has told us something, so what’s that?
It is called Topical corticosteroids. what does it mean?
The Topical corticosteroids are steroid ointments, creams, or gels that people use to treat skin conditions.
People should only ever use these products as a short-term treatment. As a matter of fact, most of them are not suitable for application on the face.

Sometimes people use corticosteroids for longer than they should or use them on their face.

Some additional causes of perioral dermatitis includes the following:

Now if a doctor has prescribed corticosteroids for perioral dermatitis , The best thing for you to do is to ask them for an alternative. The continued use of corticosteroids could cause the rash to worsen.
It is believed that the rash will get worse before it improves when a particular victim stops using corticosteroids, It is vital that they are not tempted to use the corticosteroids again.
It is also very important to see a dermatologist if the rash does not get better on its own. This is all I can say for now.
